About Me

Therapy that meets you where you are - without rushing you to be somewhere else.

Hi, I’m Jacob.

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist who helps adults and couples untangle the emotional patterns keeping them stuck—and build lives that feel more connected, grounded, and real.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling like they’re doing okay on the outside—but something’s not sitting right underneath.

They might feel disconnected from their partners. Or constantly on edge. Or just numb. They’ve been trying to hold it all together, but they’re ready for something deeper.

How I work

Therapy with me is collaborative, real, and relational. I’m not a blank slate or a nodding head. I’ll show up with honesty, empathy, and yes—humor too.

I practice from a psychodynamic and relational lens, which means we’ll explore how your past is shaping your present. We’ll uncover the patterns that keep you stuck—and start to loosen them together.

I believe therapy works best when it’s a space where you can just be. You won’t be judged, rushed, or expected to have perfect words. Just bring your truth, however messy or unclear it feels. That’s more than enough.

My Background

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in California, Colorado, and Washington DC. I have specialized training in:

  • Psychodynamic Therapy for Individuals

  • EFT Therapy for couples

  • EMDR & Trauma-informed care

I have worked in several different settings such as schools, treatment centers, community clinics and private practice which has allowed me the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and issues.

During my time at the Maple Counseling Center I received in-depth training in psychodynamic therapy working with individuals and groups. I have also worked extensively with adolescents and their families in both school settings and in residential/IOP treatment facilities. I have formal training in Attachment-EMDR, developed for the treatment of trauma, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, developed for couples work.

Many of my clients deeply resonate with the feeling of showing up for the world while quietly feeling unknown—even to themselves. I use these approaches to aid you in having a different expierence of yourself, others and the world at large.
